My family and I have spent a few days at the Maroochy River on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. We had a lovely relaxing time fishing, kayaking and lazing about.
The birdlife was amazing. There were so many different species at all times of day; ducks, pelicans (I love them!), seagulls, kookaburras, and bush turkeys, to name a few. Unfortunately we didn't catch any fish, although we saw PLENTY, including a sting ray.
I did take along something to stitch, of course. A new Block-of-the-Month I am working on. The theme is outdoorsy, with animals, a house, swinging in trees and swimming in a lake. I am using fabrics from the 3 Sisters new fabric range, Aster Manor, among others. I'm working in needleturn applique and stitchery, which is a lot of fun. Here's a little sneaky peak...
I hope to have it ready by November.Have you noticed that shops have started putting out their Christmas things already! Wasn't it Christmas just the other day? I think I am going to have to get moving on stitching for Christmas too. I have a new applique tree-skirt and small Christmas quilt coming soon (just need to hurry up and write the patterns!). I'll let you know when they're ready too.
