Rainy Days & Ghostly Whispers

I love rainy days! The more the merrier I say. There's nothing better than climbing into bed on a rainy night, or having lots of cuppa's and staying home stitching all day.

Then again, there are times when a rainy day just won't suit. Nobody wants a rainy day on their wedding day, or for an outside kid's birthday party... or a photo shoot on location! Yes, squeezed in between day after day of beautiful sunny days, on the very day I had the photographer and venue booked for the photography for my new book, I woke to a dreary, overcast, rainy day. Yuk!

So we made the best of it, and headed to the shoot location, hoping for a break in the weather, which thankfully, did come, and we ended up having a productive day.

I was very grateful to be able to have the photography done at a local historical property, Ormiston House. Built in 1862, Ormiston House was the home of Captain Louis Hope, and the birthplace of the Australian sugar industry. In the 1950's the Carmelite Nuns bought the property and restored it to it's former glory.

As we walked toward one of the rear buildings to start setting up, the photographer turned to me and said, "Did you say something?". No I hadn't... but he was certain that he'd heard someone whisper "Sister". The groundsman told us later that Sister, is of course one of the nuns, who was in hospital gravely ill. He also told us about a number of ghostly sightings in the main house and the surrounding buildings! Hopefully, we don't have any spooky images show up in our photography!

Only one week till the printing deadline. So I will be chained to the computer for the next week.
